Annual May Day Celebrations in Fort Langley!

• February 17^st, 2016

Our school has been invited to participate in the Fort Langley May Day Celebrations. We are looking for 18 – 20 willing students to learn the May Pole Dances. This is open to Grade 1-7 students and we need both girls and boys! This will be on a first come basis, with a waitlist of extra dancers. Please note that to learn the dances you need to be able to commit to all practices.

We will be practicing Lunchtime on Tuesdays & Fridays from 11:35 – 12:05pm.

Time Commitment:

• Tuesdays and Fridays, February 21 – May 19; at Lunchtime
  (Skipping Spring Break, Easter & Pro-D Days)
• Available for the Dress Rehearsal the week before the event – Thursday Evening, May 18; at the Park (More info will come in a notice about the end of April when the details have been confirmed)
• Available for the Event at about 10am on Monday, May 22/17 in Ft Langley

(The May long weekend)

Please fill in the attached form and send it back to school by Friday February 24^th if you are interested.

There is no cost for participation and light snack the day of the event will be provided for each participating child.

There is a matching set of skirts for this event for the girls. They would need a white shirt or blouse and probably a sweater. The boys wear a dark pair of dress pants and white shirt. If you have questions please ask. More info about the outfits will come later.

We need Parents to help with training the dances. No experience necessary – often it helps the younger dancers if an Adult goes next to them & helps keep their spacing or when to go ‘over or under’!
